Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if my child or relative goes missing?
Immediately file a missing person report at your nearest police station. You can also lodge a Zero FIR under BNSS (2023) — at any police station, regardless of where the person was last seen. Then register the details on this website to expand the search.
Is this website a government site?
No, this is a public platform built to support and coordinate with official police and NGO databases. It does not replace filing a police FIR, which is legally mandatory.
Can I report a missing case without an FIR?
You may submit preliminary information here to alert others, but an FIR is required under BNSS for official tracing. Please visit your local police station immediately after reporting here.
What should I do if a woman goes missing?
File a Zero FIR immediately. For suspected abduction or trafficking, BNS sections on kidnapping/abduction/slavery (Sections 137–146) apply.
Can photos and locations be shared publicly?
Only after police verification, to protect privacy and safety of the missing person.
